Lucky for me, I finished socks for just such an occasion.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.textillian.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/starry-night-socks-done.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-675\" title=\"starry-night-socks-done\" src=\"https:\/\/www.textillian.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/starry-night-socks-done-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.textillian.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/starry-night-socks-done2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-676\" title=\"starry-night-socks-done2\" src=\"https:\/\/www.textillian.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/starry-night-socks-done2-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Yes, I finished the socks I was knitting with Dragon Sock in the Starry Night colorway from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.etsy.com\/shop.php?user_id=5068540\" target=\"_blank\">Dragonfly Fibers<\/a>. The base superwash yarn that she uses is great, and this shade of blue is one of my favorites. It also helps that this colorways also happens to be <a href=\"http:\/\/www.drexel.edu\" target=\"_blank\">my alma mater&#8217;s colors<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In other news, the sock that I am working on for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.knitswithsticks.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">sock club design <\/a>has been ripped out, rewound into a ball, and I am starting over. It turns out that the foot was too wide on me, so I am making a few minor adjustments to take up the slack. Not a big deal, really; but it is a set back.<\/p>\n<p>As for spinning?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.textillian.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/blue-corrie.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-677\" title=\"blue-corrie\" src=\"https:\/\/www.textillian.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/05\/blue-corrie-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The blue corriedale is spinning up well, though I am probably spinning finer that I really should for this fiber. There is a bit of a coarseness to it. To spin it, I just peel a strip off of the batt and spin from the one end, with no predrafting whatsoever. The photo is of about an ounce and a half (I guess) that took me about four hours to spin. Wish me luck.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright 2009 by G. P.
