{"id":64,"date":"2007-04-10T15:05:42","date_gmt":"2007-04-10T10:05:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.textillian.com\/?p=64"},"modified":"2007-04-17T16:13:21","modified_gmt":"2007-04-17T11:13:21","slug":"shadowweave-towels","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.textillian.com\/?p=64","title":{"rendered":"Shadowweave towels"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The results of a study group meeting on shadowweave produced these towels.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.textillian.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/04\/towels.jpg\" title=\"Shadowweave towels\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.textillian.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/04\/towels.thumbnail.jpg\" alt=\"Shadowweave towels\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I was hosting evening study group for the <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.warpedweavers.org\">weaving guild <\/a>and the topic was shadowweave. I was also giving the demonstration of how this color and weave effect could be used. Since I had to warp the loom anyway for this, I figured I might as well put something on that I had always wanted to try, a plaid shadowweave. This particular plaid shows how the structure reacts to the different color values. These towels are even more striking in person!<\/p>\n<p>The warp and the weft for this towel is a cottolin (60% cotton\/40% linen.) The colors used in this plaid shadowweave are a green and a white with a larger yellow as the base.<\/p>\n<p>Below is a close up view of the weave structure. This pattern is a shadow weave.
