The sock is now on its way:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.textillian.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/07\/true-sock.jpg\" title=\"Toe conquered\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.textillian.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/07\/true-sock.thumbnail.jpg\" alt=\"Toe conquered\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I am doing 68 stitches for this sock because I tried 72 and that was too big of a sock, yet 64 was not quite big enough. For the 68, I just added one more round of increases to the 64 stitch easy toe directions. I am just working stockinette stitch for the foot.<\/p>\n<p>Also, to do the easy toe, I learned to do the magic loop. I know, <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/possessedtoknit.typepad.com\">Roseann <\/a>will be so proud of me. It was pretty easy to do, though it is still odd to have that wire hanging out, though it is no more in the way that the extra needles on dpns.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0Oh, and thanks to <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/akamaiknitter.com\/\">Opal <\/a>for mentioning Knit Picks to me. While I did not get needles from them yet, I do have a bunch of books on the way, as they are (were?) having a book sale! I will be reading Elizabeth Zimmermann (again) at the beach.<\/p>\n<p>And thanks to <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/curiousweaver.id.au\/\">Karen <\/a>for her encouragement. I have never ripped out so much in my life as I have for this sock. But, at least for now, the frustration is over.
