Well, since I am still trying to get back to work on the rug that I am trying to put on the big loom, I thought that maybe putting up some of the weaving that has not made it up onto the site would help me. Ok, maybe not, but here it is anyway.<\/p>\n

This is the last weaving project that I did. It started out as a warp for a napkins so that I could take part in a napkin exchange organized by Su Butler<\/a>. Unfortunately, it became apparent to me that I was not going to get any napkins in time for the exchange, with all that was going on at the time (getting house ready for sale, looking for a new one, etc.) Fortunately, I put on a LONG warp; and the width of the warp for napkins is basically the same as for dishtowels (or handtowels, however the user intends to use them.)<\/p>\n

I used 8\/2 unmercerized cotton from Webs<\/a> at a sett of 24 e.p.i. Two were made as Christmas presents, while the others were given\u00a0 as presents to some of my friends that I worked with at Bel Air Athletic Club<\/a>.<\/p>\n

So here\u00a0are the towels:<\/p>\n

First, this is the towel that I made my best friend, Tim. If you are interested in the threading and treadling, I can send you the wif file, as I play around a lot with the designs on PCW before actually throwing the shuttle.<\/p>\n

This one went to Mr. Penney’s parents as my first gift to them. Mr. Penney’s mom was very grateful, which I deeply appreciate.<\/p>\n

And here are the towels that I did a few months later (last summer) for my fellow instructors (in no particular order.)<\/p>\n

As with the towel that was a present for the in-laws, I was playing around with progressive twills on these towels. After playing around with it some, I was able to do a network draft in PCW and thought it made the weave structure look like leaves, which I thought was perfect for the colors. (I tend to do a lot of colors that are based on fall leaves.)<\/p>\n
